At the intersection of tradition and innovation, I moderated two major design events for Architectural Digest Germany: the AD Design Summit 2019 and the “Bauhaus oder Bang” panel in Munich. Both gatherings convened leading architects, designers, and visionaries to explore design’s evolving role in shaping the future.
Challenge
The AD Design Summit aimed to unpack shifting paradigms in design, architecture, and urbanism. The challenge was to navigate complex discussions on sustainability, digital transformation, and creativity’s role in shaping modern spaces. Meanwhile, “Bauhaus oder Bang” marked the Bauhaus centenary, questioning whether its principles remain relevant or if radical new approaches are needed.
Approach
As the moderator, I led conversations that merged historical context with forward-thinking debate. Engaging with renowned speakers, I facilitated dynamic discussions that challenged conventional design thinking while ensuring accessibility for the audience. By bridging perspectives between industry leaders, emerging talents, and creative disruptors, I helped translate complex ideas into insightful, engaging dialogue.
Result
Both events reinforced Architectural Digest Germany as a platform for progressive design discourse. The AD Design Summit provided critical insights into design’s evolving societal role, while “Bauhaus oder Bang” sparked a spirited debate on tradition versus experimentation.
