Lufthansa Technik partnered with me to create and lead a series of hands-on design thinking workshops, equipping its engineers and project managers with the skills to evolve as innovators.
Challenge
As a global aircraft maintenance and repair leader, Lufthansa Technik aimed to embed innovation into its culture to ensure long-term operational excellence. The challenge was to train engineers and project managers in design thinking while exposing them to fast-paced startup methodologies. To achieve this, Lufthansa Technik partnered with me to develop an immersive, hands-on training program that fostered agility and creative problem-solving.
Approach
I led three-day innovation boot camps in Berlin, where teams stepped out of their routines to tackle real-world challenges using startup-driven problem-solving. Participants were hosted at my office in Berlin and engaged in interactive workshops on pitching, prototyping, and design thinking. Visits to the APX startup accelerator provided firsthand exposure to rapid iteration, open collaboration, and startup culture.
Result
The program trained hundreds of Lufthansa Technik employees, equipping them with practical tools to drive innovation. By blending startup methodologies with engineering expertise, the workshops instilled a culture of experimentation, agility, and user-centered design. The boot camps strengthened Lufthansa Technik’s position as an aviation innovation leader, ensuring teams could apply iterative problem-solving in real-world operations.
