A service provider to the biggest global airlines, Lufthansa Technik wanted to train its employees to find more innovative solutions.
A world leader in aircraft maintenance, repair and modification services, Lufthansa Technik is dedicated to innovation and digital leadership.
To ensure that their engineers and project managers can continue to evolve as innovators, Lufthansa Technik enlisted me to devise and facilitate a series of intensive design thinking workshops.
We invited the teams to travel to Berlin, where they could immerse themselves in the capital’s dynamic startup scene and take part in our customized, hands-on innovation bootcamp.
Each of the three-day bootcamps began with a visit to the APX startup incubator, where the Lufthansa Technik teams got to know some of the startup entrepreneurs and could experience open collaboration at work.
I challenged them to a perspective shift: What aspects of the incubator could they transfer to their own company’s innovation culture?Back at the PEAK headquarters, we then dived into workshops on pitching, presenting and design thinking.
To apply their learnings, they broke into small groups to develop three prototypes for new processes and products. In this way, we made agility and a new process of innovation tangible for hundreds of Lufthansa Technik employees.
